Their sales team literally carried a business card book to events. The problem: every show brought last-minute changes, and old files resurfaced at the worst moments.
Where the Pain Showed Up: Quality, Time, and Spend
Color drift led the complaint list. On some legacy runs, ΔE jumped 3–5 against targets across substrates, which rattled marketing teams. First Pass Yield sat near 75–80% on complex label sets. Changeovers stretched 40–60 minutes, so short runs felt disproportionally expensive. Waste hovered in the 8–10% range during high mix weeks.

Prepress templates locked in dielines, bleed, and brand color references. We set ΔE targets and defined “go/no-go” tolerances by substrate (Paperboard targets were tighter than Kraft). Kraft Paper still challenged color richness; we set different expectations and used spot colors where it mattered most.
